Education saved my life. As a child in Kindergarten, I fell in love with words – their sound, their meaning, and most of all, their messages that could one day change my life. As a young teacher, the above quote by John Ruskin was the first quote I taught my students with expectation blended with hope, that they would not just excel in their learning, but also in their character. Education continues to save lives.
Finding The Good In It Inc. is a literacy consulting corporation that has been in the making for years. While enjoying a successful thirty-plus years as an educator in a variety of roles - paraprofessional, teacher, literacy specialist, staff developer, and administrator, I continued to write and pursue entrepreneurial ventures. A staunch believer in the power of “ubuntu,” I now help young people in my community with literacy acquisition and I use my poetry, other writings, and videos to inspire. Like any artist, I have collected my masterpieces from my life’s work and brought them all together in one canvas - Finding The Good In It.
